Privacy Policy


This Privacy Notice provides information concerning Direct Systems Support’s data practices and the choices you have with respect to the personal information Direct Systems Support collects, uses, and discloses.  This Privacy Notice applies when you access or use, including mobile-optimized websites and mobile applications that link to this Privacy Notice, when you become a member, shop at our stores, use our direct delivery service, contact our customer service teams, or otherwise interact with us (collectively, the “Services”).

This Privacy Notice does not apply to any services or other websites that state that they are subject to a different privacy or data policy.  This Privacy Notice also does not apply to Direct Systems Support’s  processing of employee data.


Direct Systems Support collects data directly from you and third parties Direct Systems Support, which may include your name and contact information.  We may also collect analytics and other usage information based on your interaction with our Services.  Direct Systems Support uses the information we collect to operate our business and website, communicate with you, promote our events, products, and services, and to comply with laws, rules, and our policies, including our Conditions of Use.  This Section provides a description of the type of information Direct Systems Support collects:


Direct Systems Support collects identifiers and other personal information that you provide to us.  We also collect information when you participate in surveys or promotions or sign up to receive notifications, newsletters, or other communications from us.  Additionally, if you contact us through our Customer Service, such as in connection with an account change or closure issue, we will securely store a record of your request and any personal information that you provide as part of your request.  The types of information we collect directly from you may include:

  • Identification information, such as your name (first, middle, last) and Direct Systems Support membership number
  • Contact information, such as your mailing address, e-mail address, and phone number
  • Demographic information, such as your gender, age, and ethnicity
  • Payment information, such as your debit/credit card number and billing information

Direct Systems Support processes this information for membership administration and to provide you with the products or services that you have requested, including notification of any problems or other updates, as well as to alert you (under appropriate circumstances with your consent) of any offerings or member benefits that you might have an interest in.  We may also use this information to better understand our members’ needs and interests to help tailor our products and services to meet your needs.


We work with third parties, including vendors, product suppliers, and service providers, to acquire data about you.  This may include household and demographic information from mailing list providers to communicate with you about new products and services, offers, promotions, and other information.  We may also collect personal information in connection with data access or deletion requests submitted by authorized agents on your behalf, or through other publicly available sources.


Direct Systems Support uses cookies and other tracking technologies, such as Google Analytics, to automatically collect certain information about you when you interact with our services.  For example, our web servers track various technical details about your site visit, including:

  • Details about the devices that are used to access our Services (such as the IP address, type of operating system, and web browser)
  • Dates and times of visits to, and use of, our Services
  • Information about how our services is used (such as the content that is viewed or downloaded and how users navigate between our webpages)
  • URLs that refer visitors to our services
  • Search terms used to reach our Services

We also automatically collect information based on purchasing activities, including:

  • Daily and weekly sales information, including customer counts by department and branch ID
  • Proportion card member purchases to total purchase count and overall use rate
  • Customer demographics and contact information

We use this information for a variety of purposes, including authentication of members, recording of member preferences and settings, responding to reports of technical issues with our services, ranking the relevancy and accuracy of the content on our services, and support of Direct Systems Support’s  internal audit and fraud prevention efforts.  We also use this information in aggregate form to analyze site traffic and trends to understand what content our members find useful or interesting.

Direct Systems Support’s  Services are generally not directed to children, and we do not seek or knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16.  In limited circumstances, Direct Systems Support may promote events or campaigns that are open to all ages.  Direct Systems Support requires opt-in parental consent for the collection of children’s personal information.

If we otherwise determine upon collection that a user is under 16, we will not use or retain the information without the parent or guardian’s consent.  If we become aware that we have unknowingly collected personally identifiable information from a child under the age of 16, we will make reasonable efforts to delete such information from our records.


Direct Systems Support does not sell your information for money.  However, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), some information disclosures that are necessary to provide you with personalized ads may be considered a “sale,” even if no money is exchanged.  If we determine that there has been a sale of personal information, we will comply with applicable law as to such activity.  For example, within the previous twelve (12) months, Direct Systems Support may have disclosed customer e-mail addresses to a marketing platform provider for digital promotional services.  If you are a California resident, you have a right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information.  To learn more, please review the section regarding Your Choices below.

In other limited circumstances, we may disclose your information within Direct Systems Support’s  family of companies, with our service providers, and as required by laws, rules and our policies.  If we need to share or otherwise process your information for purposes other than for which the information was originally collected, we will notify and seek your consent as appropriate.  Further details about how we may share your personal information are provided below.

  • Direct Systems Support affiliates and subsidiaries.  Direct Systems Support may share customer lists and member account information, including financial information, demographic information, and purchase history data to support internal operational, audit, and reporting requirements.
  • Service providers that perform services on our behalf, including:
    • Customer service and ticketing support providers.  Direct Systems Support may share customer names, shipping addresses, billing addresses, and purchase histories to support customer-directed inquiries and requests.
    • Technology providers, including email and web hosting providers, and cloud storage and site monitoring tool providers.  Direct Systems Support may disclose member account information, device and online identifiers, and network activity information to support the operation of our Services, conduct site improvement, and protect against fraud.
    • Payment, shipping, and order fulfillment vendors.  Direct Systems Support may share member account information, including customer names, contact information, financial information, and purchase histories, in addition to location data and other identifiers to facilitate customer orders from intake to delivery and follow-up customer support as appropriate.

Unless prohibited by applicable law, we reserve the right to transfer the information we maintain in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets.  If we engage in such a sale or transfer, we will – where required by applicable law – make reasonable efforts to direct the recipient to use your personal information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Notice.  After such a sale or transfer, you may contact the recipient with any inquiries concerning the processing of your personal information.

In addition, we may share your personal information to comply with legal and regulatory requirements, and protect against and prevent fraud, illegal activity (such as identifying and responding to incidents of hacking or misuse of our websites), claims and other liabilities.


Direct Systems Support uses cookies and similar technologies to operate and provide our Services to allow you to navigate between pages efficiently, record member settings, and improve user experience across our Services.  We also use cookies in connection with our Services to help recognize user devices and stated user preferences.  Below is some general information about cookies, and then more specific information about the types of cookies and other tracking technologies that Direct Systems Support may use.


Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your device when you visit a website.  Cookies are then sent back to the originating web domain on your subsequent visits to that domain.  Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser, while persistent cookies may remain on your device after the browser is closed (for example to reference your user preferences when you return to the same site).  Most web pages contain elements from multiple web domains so when you visit the website, your browser may receive cookies from several sources.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose(s) for which the information was collected, depending on the purpose(s) for which the information was collected, the nature of the information, any contractual relationship that may govern the retention of the information, and our legal or regulatory obligations.  For example, we retain credit card pre-authorization data, including security codes, only as long as necessary to complete the requested transaction.  If you request deletion of your Direct Systems Support member account, we will terminate your access to our Services.  We will further destroy or choose to further retain personal information in de-identified or aggregated form, in accordance with applicable law.


Direct Systems Support maintains reasonable and appropriate administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the information we maintain against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure, or use.  For example, is secured by the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt and protect information transmitted over the Internet.  We also regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks.  However, no system is 100% secure.  We cannot warrant the security of any information that you send us, and we cannot guarantee that your personal information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.
